This renovation was designed to meet the evolving needs of a growing family, transforming the existing layout into a home that prioritises functionality, privacy and flexible everyday living. Rather than increasing the footprint, the design focuses on reconfiguring the internal arrangement to unlock the full potential of the existing space.
A key design intervention was relocating the family bedrooms to the rear of the property, establishing a private sleeping zone separated from the home's social spaces. This reorganisation allowed the front of the house to become a generous entertaining area, with a spacious living room and a separate kitchen and dining space that better supports modern family life and hosting.
The project places a strong emphasis on bespoke storage and considered detailing. A concealed wine cupboard is seamlessly integrated within the kitchen, while a generously sized laundry room, positioned adjacent to the entrance hall, provides practical storage and utility space without compromising the main living areas.
The principal bedroom was further enhanced with a carefully designed ensuite that maximises natural light, moving away from the conventional enclosed corner bathroom. By creating a brighter, more open arrangement, the ensuite feels like a natural extension of the bedroom, resulting in a cohesive and refined suite rather than two disconnected spaces.
Through thoughtful planning and carefully considered design, the renovation delivers a home that is tailored to family life, balancing practicality with contemporary living while making the most of the existing building.
